| About RNHA: Values and Beliefs |
|
|
|
- I believe in the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person's dignity, freedom, ability, and responsibility must be honored.
- I believe in equal rights, equal justice, and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age, or disability.
- I believe free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.
- I believe government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.
- I believe the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations and that the best government is that which governs least.
- I believe the most effective, responsible, and responsive government is government closest to the people.
- I believe Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.
- I believe Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world.
- Finally, I believe the Republican National Hispanic Assembly is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.

| About RNHA: Travis County RNHA Platform |
(Note: The Platform should be consistent with the guiding principles as outlined in the bylaws)
- The Travis County RNHA will recruit and support candidates and elected officials who uphold the basic principles of the Republican Party platform and the precepts of our nation's founders, including:
- This nation is founded on the moral and time-honored principles derived from the Judeo-Christian tradition and the best of western civilization.
- Ours is a republican form of government based on a clearly understandable Constitution, which respects the sovereignty of the fifty states and the rights of their citizens.
- Society should encourage the resourcefulness of people to take care of themselves and their families, rather than rely on a large centralized government doing everything for them.
- We expect fiscal restraint and balanced budgets and believe that government spending must not outpace general growth in the economy and population.
- We support a system of fair taxation and demand an end to excessive taxation, which discourages the ownership of private property.
- Our legal system should protect the free market so that citizens may invest their money as they see fit and participate in the promise of capitalism without excessive government intrusion.
- Our government is organized into three separate branches (executive, legislative, judicial) and each should confine its activities to its own duties and not usurp the constitutional responsibilities of the other branches.
- The best form of governance respects citizen participation and local control with as little interference as possible from the next higher level of government.
- We seek respect among all nations with assistance to our allies and strong defense against our enemies.
- We expect our government officials to put principle above political expediency.
